A Flower Falls

“All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
And this word is the Good News that was preached to you. (1 Peter 1:24)

O teach me what it meaneth,
That cross uplifted high,
With One, the Man of Sorrows,
Condemned to bleed and die!
O teach me what it cost Thee
To make a sinner whole;
And teach me, Savior, teach me
The value of a soul!

A flower falls, but few take a second look. Even fewer cry, because they know that’s just how the world works. And God never said He held a flower in His hand, but He made them more beautiful than the richest of men. And the sparrows, God provides for them, but how much more will He provide for the apple of His eye, the one made in His image?

Your soul is worth far more than you give God credit for. He knit you together, you were made to be tethered to Him; like best friends, a Father and son, a Father and daughter, soul mates; and it’s by God’s grace that a soul is saved.

The value of your soul is beyond what this world can pay, because Jesus, the Savior and Creator of the world, gave His life to save you when you were lost and dying.

Sin is a cruel slave master, and it brings death just as surely as death brings flies. Please don’t sell your soul today. It is not too late. You are not buried and in the grave, but your sins are rotting for all to see. Cast your sins at the foot of the cross, seek forgiveness, and turn from death and darkness to the life and light found in God’s presence.

May God guide you into all wisdom, and especially into the salvation found through His Son, Jesus Christ; that you may be emptied of self and filled with His Holy Spirit.
