A Whole New World

A whole new world; a dazzling place I never knew.
But when I’m way up here, it’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you.
Unbelievable sights, indescribable feelings;
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky!

A whole new world.
(Don’t you dare close your eyes.)
A hundred thousand things to see.
(Hold your breath, it gets better.)

I’m like a shooting star,
I’ve come so far.
I can’t go back
To where I used to be.

(A Whole New World by Alan Irwin Menken and Timothy Miles Bindon Rice)

I am not in a whole new world; not yet. But I look forward to a home greater than this one.

This place has its joys and pleasant moments, but eternity with Jesus is way better. When I’m with Him, I see the world as it should be and as it will be; and I see myself as I should be and as I will be. My God has so much more in store than the richest of this world settle for. No one will be saved by the clothes they put on, or by the clothes they take off; they will only be saved by putting off their sin and putting on the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ; a childlike faith is the first step to eternal love and grace.

I choose Jesus: to love Him, serve Him, and follow Him even unto the foot of His throne. I’ve come too far; Jesus has brought me too far. I’m not going back to where I used to be. I am soaring on the wings of the Son, singing His praises until the morning comes, and falling into His outstretched arms of grace, strength, and love. Though my eyes have not seen His face or His Kingdom, I know that He comes, so I will keep my lamp lit, and oil at the ready. By Your grace, Lord Jesus, let me not be caught sleeping when You return. Keep my eyes open wide and on You. You, oh Lord, are my future and my greatest hope. I love You. Amen.
